EMMA FISHER
2016 Graduate
Dancing professionally in Bordeaux, France.

The full-time course at A&L Danse really helped me to achieve my dream of dancing around the world. The course was great for refining technique in multiple genres of dance as well as learning the fundamentals of nutrition, anatomy and the history of dance. Some of my favourite aspects from my time in the course was style of teaching and diverse range of classes that we given. The teachers were great for realising how far I could push myself physically and mentally swell as learning to never stop and always strive for better.

The two years that I spent at A&L Danse really helped to get to where I am now and is always I reminder that I can do whatever I set my mind to. In the pre professional and professional world of dance that I now live in I can still take information and knowledge that I learnt from the course and use it to continue to improve now. Overall I loved my time at A&L danse and defiantly recommend the full-time course to any dancer with big dreams.

REBECCA WESTLEY

2016 Graduate

Danced professionally in Bordeaux, France. Now, staff member of the Academy.

A&L’s Full-Time course allowed me to develop my practical skills in various genres of dance, as well as further my knowledge in various subjects which relate to the performing arts industry. The theory aspect of the course was valuable as it provided a background to all the areas of dance; the history behind it and what dance means to different cultures, the importance of health and understanding what dancers need to function effectively and fuel their bodies, how to search and apply for professional work in the performing arts industry, and how the human anatomy assists in allowing the body to move, as well as learning how to understand your own body.

From this course, I gained the ability to understand myself, push myself, increase my confidence to a professional level, and what my personal capabilities are as a dancer. The combination of theory and practical taught me that it is not only important to be a physically strong and versatile dancer, but you must also be a smart dancer – understanding everything and how it relates to dance.

With the help of the teachers, I exceeded my personal expectations and accomplished many
achievements that I wouldn’t have imagined, such as being offered various professional and training contracts across the world, becoming a part of a Junior Company, performing throughout France in various productions, working with world-renowned choreographers, learning a new language, making friends and being part of a different culture, and travelling around Europe for dance opportunities. Using the training and skills I have gained through the diploma, I am now teaching dance students – both full-time and part-time, and helping them reach their goals as dancers.
